Creative Tastes Catering & Event Production is hiring a Sous Chef. The Sous Chef position is ideal for a reliable and professional culinarian looking for a kitchen management position in the catering industry. The position offers base salary plus additional pay for off premise event catering.
In conjunction with the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef is responsible for the effective management of all culinary related operations. Kitchen management duties include regular supervision of staff, food prep, food rotating, labeling and organizing food stock, equipment maintenance, inventory and sanitation. Leadership, reliability and trustworthiness are key characteristics of the Sous Chef we are looking for. Flexibility required: including early mornings, late nights when needed. Varied cuisines and menu changes occur regularly. Lifting up to 50 pounds is required at times. . Delicious, safe and professional food preparation is the cornerstone to Creative Tastes Catering since 1984.
Requirements
- Professional and efficient food handler with love of food.
- Strong organization problem solving skills
- Strong interest in staff management, general understanding payroll and food costs.
- Strong interest in corporate, private & luxury catered events.
- Assist in menu creativity & development
- Food Handler Certification or Food Service Manager Certification (We will provide update if needed)
- Culinary degree preferred or Three Years of Catering Experience Minimum at quality company
- Flexibility in weekly schedule
- Driver’s License Required -5 Years History No DUI/Points
