Job description

Primary Responsibilities: Support Strategic Sourcing Managers in the creation, execution and management of comprehensive sourcing strategies that ensure lowest total cost of ownership through managed demand, utilization, and optimal pricing. Assist in negotiation, benchmarking, implementation, and monitoring of large scale acquisitions, contracts, and product portfolios to ensure TJUH Inc. takes full advantage of value based, state of the art equipment, devices, and opportunities.
Facilitate cross-functional project teams and support implementation of new products by performing research needed to support Value Analysis processes,. Through contract preparation and item master maintenance. Help track supplier performance and departmental performance against key performance indicators such as contract compliance. ,
The position includes, but is not limited to the following essential functions.
Essential Functions:
  • Supports senior sourcing staff along all stages of sourcing process from situation analysis, spec creation, market research and intelligence, strategy creation, request for proposal, negotiation, award, implementation, and budgetary compliance as necessitated by project teams and departmental needs
  • Initiates bid process and assists senior staff in utilization of eSourcing technology to increase value delivery and increase efficiency of the bidding process. Analyzes responses, awards business, supports contract development and monitors vendor performance post-award through structured and well-defined supplier relationship management
  • Prepare research, data, and analysis that help build and leverage strategic supplier relationships to deliver enterprise-wide cost optimization and maintain focus on pioneering, innovate products and services
  • Responds appropriately and proactively to customer needs and supports departmental, hospital, and university initiatives.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated decision-maker working with minimal supervision and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.

Qualifications
Educational/Training Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in business is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses and Registration:
C.P.M. from the Institute for Supply Management, Inc. or a CMRP certification from the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management of the American Hospital Association is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
0-3 years progressively responsible experience in purchasing, contract management, or materials management setting
Conditions of Employment
