Job Overview
The Sound Designer is responsible for handling all facets of game audio production, working as part of a creative game development team to design a superior quality gaming experience that is fun and engaging to our players.
Responsibilities
- Designing brilliant sound effects, atmospheres and sonic textures that are tailored to each game’s theme and enhances the gameplay experience.
- Composing original music in a broad range of styles and genres, including recording, mixing, and mastering as needed.
- Create games with a diverse team of Game Designers, Artists, and Software Engineers.
- Be self-motivated and proactive during a game’s production pipeline.
- Receive and offer constructive feedback.
- Contributing to process improvements to increase productivity and the sonic quality of our games.
Skills/Requirements
- 3+ years of professional job experience in a related audio field.
- Experience in audio design and development for video slot games.
- Highly proficient in modern DAWs such as Pro Tools, Logic, Reaper, etc.
- Highly proficient in the use of 3rd party plugins and virtual instruments such as (but not limited to) EastWest, Native Instruments, iZotope, Waves, etc.
- Basic understanding of audio middleware tools such as FMOD and Wwise.
- Designing and creating the overall soundscape of a game, finding equal balance of both style and function.
- Creating rich, compelling musical motifs that bring life to the game and help better tell its story.
- Experience in a variety of microphone position and recording techniques.
- Experience in a variety of audio engineering techniques.
- Ability to manage and deliver audio assets for implementation.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously and be flexible to the ever-changing environment of a fast-growing company.
Bonus Skills
- Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Able to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance in a game’s production.
- Experience developing in the Unity game engine.
- Knowledge and experience using the C# scripting language.
- Experience in version control such as SVN, Git, or Perforce.
