Responsibilities
The Solutions Architect for Business Intelligence & Data Strategies (BIDS) team is an advance senior level position responsible for the overall strategic technical vision for department. The position is responsible for providing the best technical solutions for the various project undertake by the department. The individual must have a deep and broad understanding of many inter-related technology categories including application development software, hardware & infrastructure, network & application security, software & network environments, data assets & warehouses, data modeling & integration, ETL technologies and information analysis. The individual must also communicate effectively and have the aptitude to learn, engage and utilize new vendor applications and tools quickly.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical and analytical recommendations along with roadmaps for proposed projects. Provide technical leadership to the department throughout the development lifecycle of all projects affecting BIDS supported deliverables. Develop proof-of-concept projects to validate proposed solutions or demonstrate best practice solutions. Review and validate solutions designed by other team members. Perform design, debug and performance analysis on solutions.Documents and disseminates best practice knowledge for BIDS technology solutions. Regularly communicates new features and benefits to partners, customers, and other stakeholders. Identifying and mitigating risks associated with department solutions before they are released. Assist in aligning solutions with the organization's strategic objectives. Ability to manage projects to deadlines and effectively communicate scope and expectations while utilizing change management best practices.Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
B.S. Computer Science/Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or Bachelor's degree with proven coursework, related skillset and/or related work experience7+ years' work experience in Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence environments particularly in the role of a data architect, solutions designer/developer, and/or data integration.7+ years' work experience with application development, web or windows based.Demonstrate advanced proficiency in one or many of the technologies listed in the preferred section below.Ability to quickly learn and synthesize new technologiesAptitude for programming leveraging best practice techniques and methodsExperience with full lifecycle BI/EDW projects and understanding of the SDLC.Knowledge or training in scripting/programming languages (ie: Unix, Python, Powershell, Perl, C, .Net, etc...)Excellent communication, presentation and design skillsExcellent analytical skills interpreting meaning from dataAbility to work in a rapid, agile development methodologyExcellent analytical and communication skillsHighly proficient at working with other technical developers and business stakeholders to propose and design proof of concept solutions.Highly proficient at reviewing, validating and providing corrective actions for all technological solutions.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED
5+ years' experience in a healthcare environmentAdvanced proficiency with database environnements : IBM Netezza , Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, IBM's DB2 Advanced proficiency with ETL software (particularly IBM Datastage and IBM Qualitystage but also Microsoft's SSIS or other ETL software)Advanced proficiency with business reporting software : Microsoft SSRS, Microsoft PowerBIAdvanced proficiency developing with Business Intelligence Visulization software : Tibco Spotfire, Tableau or QlikviewAdvanced proficiency with Python, UNIX, PERL, Powershell or other scripting langages.Advanced proficiency Object Oriented Programming (OOP) preferably for web development: MS Visual Studio, ASPX, JavaScipt, CSS, HTML, VB.NETAdvanced proficiency with Data mining, Data modeling for applications and data warehousing, Data cleansing, Data and Data standardizationAdvanced proficiency with ETL software (particularly IBM Datastage and IBM Qualitystage but also Microsoft's SSIS or other ETL software)Work Hours:8AM - 5PMEmployment Type: FULL_TIME
