Primarily an individual contributor but can be responsible for a small team.
Main Product of work is to provide Solution Architecture development, consultancy and assurance to projects, making sure applications are well designed and conform to Client standards and reference/segment architectures. Translates the guidelines and standards into practice and solves common technical challenges and provides technical recommendations which have a perceptible impact on local business performance; actively drives the identification, development and implementation of new technologies and opportunities to optimise technology/IT systems. Contributes to the training and guidance of other professionals in the field. May represent the Company externally as a subject matter expert with suppliers, customers and external agencies. Empowered to make decisions on solutions within guidelines. Applies TOE standards and raises step-outs if needed. Applies the standard architecture tools for creating and storing key architecture artefacts (IBM System Architect, PowerDesigner and/or ProVision); fosters re-use. Manages the relation with a customer base on senior levels of business leadership JG1/2. Understands the IT Strategic Roadmap and applies within the context of their organisational assignment. Uses the related reference architectures and roadmaps for Cloud, Mobile, Integration, OpenSource, Big Data, etc.

Background BCR Compliance project Client's BCR Compliance initiative seeks to make the Portfolio Companies (PCs) compliant by achieving the target state Infrastructure IT Compliance, Application IT Compliance and Organizational IT Compliance. PCs initially operate their own IT landscape and will need to be moved to Client's Enterprise IT landscape with an intent of improving IT compliance. BCR projects are normally of high complexity, touching every single IT process and IT asset within a Portfolio Company and migrating an entire IT estate into Client IT.
Solution Architect role description: This role requirement is for a Solution Architect who will primarily work with a Portfolio company (e.g. RESPC, Downstream Mobility) to understand (and document) their AS-IS (current) Landscape, suggest transition architectures for moving from AS-IS to Client's standard TO-BE, addressing technical challenge areas and driving joint solutions with Portfolio Company and Client's segment architects. The Project Solution Architect will be working closely with the Project Manager and an Infrastructure Lead from Client IDSO to understand the current PC IT Landscape to drive the necessary IT Compliance and IT Onboarding/migration activities Ideal candidate has extensive knowledge (and hands on project experience) of the full IT Infrastructure stack and Technologies (both infrastructure and applications including Cloud Migrations) as well as a base understanding of Software Engineering toolset & processes. This architect will drive Solution Architecture for rollout of Client IT Infrastructure and relevant IT4IT tools at a Portfolio Company. Understanding of the Client's IT Infrastructure services and processes will be an added advantage. Experience and knowledge of the full IT Infrastructure stack is required as the solution architect will touch every layer in the stack.

We expect the candidate Solution Architect:
is TOGAF certified
is able to demonstrate and provide meaningful examples of
experience with the full end2end stack as shown on the right
experience with infrastructure heavy migration projects
experience of producing high quality target and transitional architecture documents
experience of producing high quality decision sheets (rational, value case) for identified choice points and exceptions

Note: In the above, 'experience of' should be understood to mean personal hands-on experience i.e. not as part of a team. A solution architect can receive input from others but will not be working for a more senior architect or client architect to contribute.
