Under the direction of the program manager and the customer's team lead, supports electrical engineers in new product development. Provides service to our customer as needed within their development program, with a primary focus on building, testing, and reworking a wide variety of circuit boards, harnesses, and a variety of electrical test equipment. Ensures smooth operation in a dynamic environment while balancing company and customer objectives.
Essential Functions:
· Rework or replace basic IC packages on PCBs (QFN, BGA, fine pitch soldering)
· Assist engineers in assembly of PCBs and populating sub components for prototype modules
· Setup engineering lab workstation for both hazardous and low voltage use
· Assist engineering teams for debugging printed circuit board assemblies and reworking/replacing components down to size 0201.
· Maintain and restock basic lab supplies for engineering team use
· Provide onsite technical support in the design and development of prototypes
· Communicate with secrecy and strict confidentiality
· Accepts and perform other responsibilities as assigned
Skill and Experience Requirements:
· Proficiency at PCBA rework and fine pitch soldering
· Advanced soldering and rework skills for IC packages (QFN, BGA, Fine Pitch or similar high-density packages)
· Experienced in working on a wide variety of PCBAs
· Demonstrated experience working with electrical schematics, and EE bench test quipment (oscilloscope, power supplies, multimeters)
· Willingness to work under challenging circumstances and time constraints, with the ability to prioritize tasks[JW1] [JS2] [JW3] [JW4] based on importance and availability.
· Communication skills, verbal and written, are a priority.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality is critical.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 4+ years field experience required or AS Degree or higher in electronic technology or related with 2+ years field experience.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Job requires sitting, standing, and bending for approximately 6-8 hours on a daily basis.
· Must be flexible and able to perform numerous tasks as requested.
· Limited/occasional travel may be required.
