SOLAR PV DESIGN ENGINEER Independent Contract 1099

Pay Rate: $52,000 – $70,000 based on experience
Summary:
An solar Design Engineer is a professional who specializes in using sunlight to generate electricity. They plan, design and execute solar energy projects and manage everything from residential rooftop installations to large-scale municipal projects. This individual must manage multiple projects and manage effective time management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Experience using AutoCAD 2012 or newer
- Experience in creating Residential and Commercial Solar plans
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code
- Familiarity with Solar Code requirements of cities in LA, Riverside, San Bernardino, & Orange County
- Put together Solar Residential Permit plans
- Familiarity with shade studies and energy production calculation software
- Familiarity with Enphase and Solar Edge system monitoring software
- Checking and verifying drawings are accurate and complete
- Uploading documents to CRM
- Changes to existing drawings
- Supports the standardization of documentation
- Works with Configuration Management and information systems for document control
- Creating solar panel drawings using CAD software; from designs, sketches, layouts, or notes that may be provided by engineering, with detail and accuracy to facilitate successful manufacturing of the hardware
- Implementing design rules and best practices to generate panel drawings to ensure compliance with design requirements.
- Generate drawings to support product documentation and manufacturing
- Identifying non-conformance issues and participating in finding solutions
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using AutoCAD 2012 or newer
- Minimum of 1 year experience in creating Residential and Commercial Solar plans
- Solar certifications
- Self-directed and self-motivated team player
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Adobe
- Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Demonstrate oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in cost justification for new processes and procedures required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted software
