Solar Cell Test and Assembly Engineer

Job Description:

MicroLink is seeking a Test and Assembly Engineer to improve and automate processes for testing and packaging MicroLink’s ultra-thin, multi-junction, epitaxial lift-off (ELO) Solar Cells for use in UAVs and space. The successful candidate will have experience in robotics or automation equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Improve processes for testing and packaging ultra-thin Solar Cells in lightweight, flexible assemblies.
• Evaluate potential for automating testing and packaging processes.
• Interface with equipment manufacturers to design and acquire automated testing and packaging systems.
• Verify that Solar Cell packaging processes meet customer specifications and reliability objectives.
• Assist in design of new products and technology platforms.
• Support internal R&D efforts.
• Document process changes in work instructions and change documents; present project status and results to team.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or similar with experience in robotics or automation equipment. Associate degree in Mechatronics with relevant experience will be considered.
• Experience in LabView and database interfacing a strong plus.
• Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
