The Solar and Electrical Construction Manager is responsible for ensuring the Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Customer Experience of the residential solar installation and LED retrofit lighting projects. In addition, the Solar and Electrical Construction Manager is responsible for organizing, motivating, managing, and training the crews when in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and oversee all aspects of solar construction and LED retrofit lighting projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Organize and optimize crew structure and work schedule for the highest productivity.
- Conduct pre-Construction Project reviews to determine the resource requirements of the project.
- Demonstrate competency and confidence in leading mechanical and Electrical work on both roof and ground-mounted solar projects and LED retrofit lighting projects.
- Perform regular site visits for on-site safety, electrical, technical and QC training.
- Lead and assist in the training of the field construction staff, including safety, quality, customer service, efficiency, and administrative responsibilities.
- Quickly and accurately handle required administrative duties, including but not limited to training documentation, inspection documentation, project completion documentation, field purchase orders, and timecard data entry.
- Work closely with the warehouse personnel to ensure crews are accurately and efficiently stocking/restocking installation vehicles and project materials.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and other relevant records.
- Provide weekly reports and status updates on field related tasks.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that projects are completed successfully.
- Submit schedules/shop drawings and sample/mock-up submittals and approvals, assist with production and trucking sequencing, attend job-site meetings, communicate and coordinate on-site activities of field services personnel, erectors and other subcontractors.
Skills:
- Must be able to read and interpret Solar and Electrical blueprints.
- Technical skills in checking all the sub-contractors and installers, and implementing QC inspection.
- Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word.
- Knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, procurement including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must possess a strong work ethic and be able to lead by example.
- Valid driver license with a clean driving record.
- Must not be afraid of heights.
- Capable of carrying 50 lbs.
- Able to set up ladder and climb 2 stories.
Experience:
- Solar: 3 years (Preferred)
- Electrical: 3 years (Preferred)
- Management: 3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Driver License (Required)
