Software Systems Architect - Webfocus

We are looking for a Software Systems Architectto support our client based in Tallahassee, Florida.
US BASED CANDIDATES ONLY.
This is an hybrid position. Candidates must be located in or near Tallahassee, Florida.

TECKpert seeks to hire a Software Systems Architectto support our client, a government agency based in Tallahassee, FL. The ideal candidate will join their team to help upgrade, configure, and optimize their systems, primarily involving the WebFOCUS/iWay suite of products and related server environments. Your responsibilities will cover a wide range, including managing user access, handling file archiving, ensuring robust password protection and security measures, monitoring shared resource usage, and troubleshooting any equipment issues.
You'll take on complex projects and tackle issues that demand in-depth knowledge across various technical areas and business segments. Daily, you'll provide essential operational support, maintenance, and administration. You'll also dive into research, analysis, and inventory tasks as we explore transitioning to Microsoft Power BI or similar Business Intelligence tools.
This role comes with the responsibility of owning complex challenges to support the Department's business needs. You might also find yourself mentoring and coaching junior technical staff along the way. It's a crucial position where your expertise will make a significant impact on our ongoing projects and the success of the team.
Job duties includes but not limited to:

1. Support and expand IT infrastructure as needed.
2. Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties.
3. Troubleshoot end user issues.
4. Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades.
5. Maintaining, repairing, and upgrading network and computer systems.
6. Provide resource support to upgrade, configure, and optimize the Department's WebFOCUS server environment.
7. Facilitation with staff resource to provide knowledge and skills transfer.
8. Assist with configuring WebFOCUS server security.
9. Execution (a possible replacement for mainframe batch processing), and new features in existing product such as ReportCaster (Report Library).
10. Assist in modernizing the Department's WebFOCUS application development environment.
11. Assist impacted business units with migration effort.
12. Provide for the concentrated oversight and review of vendor patches, maintenance releases and upgrades to the server.
13. Facilitates the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise.
14. Reviews, advises, and designs standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs vs benefits, and impact on the enterprise business processes and goals.
15. Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards.
16. Assists in the development of and manages the architecture governance process.
17. Provides technical guidance to project team areas as appropriate.
18. Tracks industry trends and maintains knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise's architecture needs.

Compensation and Term
This opportunity is for a full-time, ongoing need with contract to hire possibility and pay commensurate with experience up to $60 per hour or $124,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.
Qualifications you need
A successful Software Systems Architect has the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field.
• Must have experience with Information Builders, Inc (IBI)- WebFOCUS/iWay products and related server
  environments.
• A minimum of 7 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/systems environments performing systems
  planning, architecture design, engineering (hardware and software), and optimization.
• A minimum of 3 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration.
• Experience with IIS Administration.
• Experience in Network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS Samba/CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions.
• Experience in Network Performance Tuning, LAN Knowledge, Network Design, and Implementation.
• Experience in Strategic Planning
