The Role
Pushing the boundaries on the innovative high-performance computing and graphics solutions of tomorrow, requires a unified system design across hardware and software stacks. The System engineer will work in close collaboration with Microsoft and various architects within AMD to ensure that the Windows OS works effectively in conjunction with AMD hardware and software to enable efficient support for key system scenarios. In addition, the architect will provide strong technical leadership for the AMD Windows OS team.
The Person
You are a fast-learner who is excited by new technology and have the analytical mind to solve tough technical challenges and design solutions that make the dreams of tomorrow a reality today. You have hands-on experience in working closely with (or for) Microsoft with deep knowledge of Windows OS internals. You also have strong relationship building skills, are proactive, result-oriented and work effectively in a matrixed environment. You are highly organized and can effectively juggle multiple priorities within tight timeframes.

Software System Engineer, Windows OS Team
The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, infrastructure and process for the AMD Windows OS team
- Ramp up quickly on new domains to enable close collaboration with AMD hardware/software architects and Microsoft to design OS features to light up key scenarios
- Hands-on expert leading design, implementation, debug and optimization of key features
Preferred Experience
- System architecture experience with a strong track record of bringing new technologies to market with hardware/software solutions
- Experience working closely with (or for) Microsoft on complex Windows OS features
- Years of industry experience with low level software development in C/C++
- Expert knowledge of operating system development, low-level device driver or embedded driver development
- Extensive experience debugging complex system interactions
Academic Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree specializing in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field

Qualifications:
At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
