Job Summary

The Software Quality Engineer is instrumental in developing and implementing software application test strategies, plans, and artifacts. Responsibilities include coding automated test suites, maintaining the automation framework, and potentially managing a product backlog for organizational consistency. This senior role involves active participation in cross-functional teams across diverse projects, ranging from bug fixes to system enhancements and new implementations. The ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, prioritize effectively, and pay attention to detail is crucial. Additionally, the Senior Software Quality Engineer may serve as a Scrum Master for Agile teams, showcasing leadership, initiative, and effective teamwork.

As part of the agile SCRUM product development process, Software Quality Engineers, whether in the I or II capacity, play pivotal roles in test estimation, prioritization, planning, and coordination of testing activities. This involves contributing to cross-functional teams for projects spanning bug fixes, system enhancements, and new system implementations. These roles focus on supporting Scrum teams by testing system and workflow performance, ensuring alignment with end-user expectations and organizational needs. Strong knowledge of testing methods, logical and creative thinking, and effective communication skills are essential. Working collaboratively with team members, developers, managers, and end-users is integral, with a working knowledge of Agile principles and Scrum methodology. The Software Quality Engineers must be adept at managing multiple tasks, prioritizing effectively, and working within team environments. Software Quality Engineer II also specializes in development and testing, running, and troubleshooting both manual and automated tests to support diverse business requirements. All roles contribute to the continuous improvement of testing scripts and product coverage, emphasizing the importance of maintaining standards and procedures for the Agile/Scrum framework at the organization.

 

 

 

Minimum Requirements (SQEI)

Salary Range:  $4,139 - $5,298 Monthly

•             Strong oral and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

•             Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to details.

•             Maintain up-to-date technical skills.

•             Working knowledge of Agile principles and Scrum methodology.

•             Minimum of one year progressively responsible experience in quality assurance testing, including test plan and test case execution.

•             Equivalent experience with TRS business software related to the position; preferred experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

•             Preferably possess an Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; alternatively, substitute with two years of directly related job experience.

Minimum Requirements SQE II

Salary Range:  $5,393 - $6,908 Monthly

•             Minimum two years of progressively responsible experience in quality assurance testing or equivalent experience in pension administration.

•             Working knowledge of Agile principles and Scrum methodology.

•             Preferred experience with test automation tools and testing in Agile/SCRUM environments.

•             Preferably possess an Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; alternatively, substitute with two years of directly related job experience.

Minimum Requirements Senior SQE

Salary Range:  $7,285 - $9,324 Monthly

•             Minimum four years of progressively responsible experience in quality assurance testing, including test plan and test case execution.

•             Preferred experience with test automation tools and testing in Agile/SCRUM environments.

•             Working knowledge of Agile principles and Scrum methodology.

•             Preferably possess an Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; alternatively, substitute with two years of directly related job experience.

•             Maintain current technical skills.

Essential Functions

Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define detailed testing criteria, ensuring alignment with user expectations and agile principles. Develop and update clear and concise descriptions of software features for test plans. Provide key metrics, updates on test execution progress, and contribute to production readiness. Ensure comprehensive test design traceability and continuous improvement. Participate in test planning, enhance automation coverage, and conduct testing. Maintain Agile/Scrum framework standards, actively participate in Agile practices, and serve on cross-functional teams as a member or Scrum Master. Analyze software test results, recommend corrective actions, and ensure compliance with performance standards. Facilitate discussions, coach teams on Agile/Scrum principles, and create and execute thorough tests for software solutions.
