Software Quality Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, apply, and maintain standards for Software Quality operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures.
• Ensure that project and process control documentation are compliant with standards, objectives, and/or contract requirements via inspection, reviews, and audits.
• Develop overall operating measures and criteria to ensure implementation of the Software Quality program according to standards, objectives, and/or contract requirements.
• Ensure measures meet acceptable performance standards/targets/goals.
• Contribute to software development and maintenance processes and methods utilized by Software Engineering, ensuring compliance with requirements, objectives and/or contract requirements.
• Review software engineering work products (e.g., design, change specifications, and plans) against contractual and/or process requirements
• Perform or direct verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.

Required Skills

• Experience in operating in a Quality Management System (QMS).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience coding in Ada, C, C++, and/or Python.
• Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems and software problem tracking tools such as DOORs, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket.
• Experience with ISO and AS9100 standards requirements.
• Knowledge and/or experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action tools.
• Ability and willingness to continuously learn and implement new processes.
• Knowledge of waterfall and/or Agile life-cycles.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, another STEM degree or equivalent and at least 5 years of software experience or 3 years with a Master’s degree or 0 years with a PhD in one of the above disciplines.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $36.50 - $57.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
