Job Description
TechConnect is seeking a Software QA Analyst for an industry leading client based in Tulsa, OK. Our client is looking for an individual that has a proven track record as a Quality Assurance Analyst or Software Tester. They need someone that is well versed in software testing concepts, methodologies and tools to ensure high quality and reliable software products and applications.
As a Software QA Analyst, you will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing and executing multiple testing activities to identify issues/defects and to improve the overall software performance. You will work closely with Software Developers, PM’s and other team members to deliver high quality software solutions that meet and/or exceed the company’s expectations. You will be expected to run in depth testing to detect problems, recommend solutions, determine if program requirements have been met, recommend program improvements, correct programmers as needed, review computer operating logs to identify program processing errors, etc. You will write, revise and verify quality standards. You will test procedures for program design and product evaluation to ensure economical and efficient software for the company.
Responsibilities (Cont’d)
- Program, analyze and run tests on new and/or modified software programs.
- Document diagram, flowchart and software development procedures used to verify the programs function is according to user requirements and conform to establishment guidelines.
- Conduct compatibility tests with vendor provided programs.
- Enter instructions into computer to test program for validity of results, accuracy, reliability and conformance to establishment standards.
- Observe program test to detect error codes or interruption of program and correct errors.
- Identify differences between establishment standards and user applications then suggest modifications to conform to standards.
- Set up test at user request to locate and correct program operating error following installation of program.
- Monitor program performance after implementation to prevent reoccurrence of program operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation.
- Document to describe program evaluation, testing and correction.
- Evaluate proposed software or software enhancement for feasibility.
- Develop utility program to test, track and verify defects in software program.
- Write programs to create new procedures or modify existing procedures.
- Train software program users.
- Stay current with industry best practices, new testing tools and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, software engineering or related field.
- 3 or more years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst or Software Tester.
- Solid understanding of software testing concepts, practices and procedures.
- Proficient in test automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber or similar frameworks.
- Preferred – relevant certification in software testing such as ISTQB.
- Preferred – experience with scripting languages such as Java, Python, C# for test automation.
- Familiar with various testing techniques and methodologies that include black-box testing, white-box testing, exploratory testing, etc.
- Experience using bug tracking tools such as JIRA and test management systems such as TestRail to track defects and manage test cases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to accurately articulate complex technical concepts.
- Excellent relationship building skills to excel with all levels of personnel.
- Strong analytical skills to identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.
- Highly organized, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to convey testing results and make effective recommendations.
- Ability to provide excellent support while working in a fast paced, everchanging environment.
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Adaptable and able to change project requirements and timelines as needed.
- Ability to think critically and propose solutions for improving software quality.
- Meticulous attention to detail to identify and document software defects accurately.

Work Location & Travel
- Work will be performed onsite at the companies Tulsa, Oklahoma facility.
- Travel may be required in this role with potential overnight stays as needed.
Physical Functions & Environment
- Lifting objects up to 50lbs.
- Stooping and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Work is performed in an office setting with periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust and some chemical fume exposure.
