WHO WE ARE

The Digital Center of Excellence (DCOE) is the organization within Hallmark Technology that is responsible for:

  • Building a world-class, consumer-focused caring platform that enables Hallmark’s lines of business (LOB) across the enterprise (Crayola, Hallmark Media, Hallmark Global) to accelerate their direct-to-consumer product strategies
  • Developing a Cloud-first, multi-tenant digital platform that provides capabilities and services, such as a unified Hallmark Profile, Product Recommendations, Global Payment services, etc.
  • Building, securing and operating digital consumer products for Hallmark’s LOBs
  • Scaling development capabilities to build for Hallmark’s future

As a member of the DCOE team you'll partner with high functioning, high energy teams of cross-functional disciplines that bring products like Hallmark.com and our Hallmark Gold Crown Omnichannel network to life for our consumers. With a consumer-first focus this group delivers impactful digital solutions that have a direct impact on consumer brand engagement and retention in the digital space, which results in revenue growth and brand relevance.


WHAT YOUR ROLE ENTAILS AND HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE

As aSoftware Engineering Manager on our team one site, you'll oversee the delivery of the most advanced digital solutions. As you guide your team, you'll partner with clients to manage the various aspects that make the one site operate effectively and efficiently. You'll move quickly in an exciting and fluid environment to lead the Agile development of a project roadmap, establish project milestones, and implement metrics to track progress while bringing people together to make a tangible difference.

What you’ll do:

  • Direct management of a handful of engineers with opportunities to grow
  • Ownership of an area of code and ability to set architectural direction
  • Immediate team impact on hallmark.com and its thousands of visitors (we release frequently and are looking towards continuous deployment)
  • Opportunity to shape our development process and code quality
  • Utilize strong technical background with expertise in software development methodologies, technologies, and tools
  • Daily interaction with technologies such as Salesforce, JavaScript, SQL, Rest APIs, Datadog

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree or 6 years professional work experience
  • At least 7 years’ experience managing web application development teams
  • At least 8 years’ experience guiding scrum-based teams (e.g., scrum master, technical head, etc.)
  • At least 8 years of full-stack development experience (i.e. HTML, CSS, Javascript/React, Node.js, MVC, MySQL, NoSQL, RESTful APIs)
  • Experience building collaborative teams and high-quality software

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Your resume and application will stand out if you have:

  • At least 6 years of experience driving best engineering practices and architecture
  • At least 5 years of experience overseeing all activities of the software development team, and influence on delivery groups.
  • At least 8 years of experience defining the current and long-range direction of software development by enhancing and implementing best-in-class practices, policies and systems while delivering high quality and repeatable results
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve systemic obstacles that prevent your team from delivering high-quality software
  • A team-first leadership style
  • Excellent project management and communication skills

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • The salary range for this job is between $125,000 and $170,000. Salary will take into consideration several factors including location.
