Summer 2024 Recruitment Timeline: 

November 13 - December 8: Applications Open (may close early due to applicant volume) 

Mid November - Late December: First round video interviews  

Mid - Late January: Second round interviews 

Late January - February: Selected candidates receive offers 

Job Description

Summer 2024 Internship Program: 

  • Applications Close: December 8th at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible - applications could close earlier due to applicant volume!  
  • Program Dates: June 3 - August 9, 2024 
  • Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. 
  • Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Stamford, CT 3-5 days per week.

  • Peacock, Backend Engineering: The Peacock Direct to Consumer team builds dynamic applications using cutting-edge technology to deliver performant applications, focusing on user experience. We are looking for a dynamic team player who is an owner, accountable and passionate about technology. You will be working on high-visibility applications serving millions of users for industry-leading sporting and entertainment events, such as the Super Bowl, Olympics, Saturday Night Live and America's Got Talent. If you relish having your efforts on display for millions of users - this is your opportunity. You will have a role in API development, architecture, while optimizing performance, scale, and resiliency. 

 

  • Peacock, Quality Engineering: The Peacock Direct to Consumer team builds dynamic applications using cutting-edge technology to deliver performant applications, focusing on user experience. We are looking for a dynamic team player who is an owner, accountable and passionate about technology. You will be working on high-visibility applications serving millions of users for industry-leading sporting and entertainment events, such as the Super Bowl, Olympics, Saturday Night Live and America's Got Talent. If you relish having your efforts on display for millions of users - this is your opportunity. You will have a role in ensuring quality into those great products, applications, services, reduce amount of issues customer might encounter otherwise by proactively identifying, reporting, and tracking for mitigation prior to product launches, you will have an opportunity to work with a world class Quality Engineering team working meticulously to provide the best user experiences for the customers. You will have an opportunity to gain technical skills in the field of quality engineering including test automation and continuous quality improvement processes. 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program. 
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits). 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal. 
  • Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT. 

Desired Characteristics: 

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred. 
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of object-oriented programming. 
  • Basics of coding with version control systems, git/github. 
  • Familiarity with two or more of the following: JavaScript/TypeScript, node.js, vuJS, GraphQL, APIs or systems powered by GraphQL, PHP, drupal familiarity, and unit testing. 
  • Knowledge of web and mobile testing concepts and has limited knowledge to debug visual issues and align them with test cases. 
  • Basic knowledge of test case writing, test execution and defect reporting. 
  • Knowledge or beginner experience with any test management tools for example: Qmetry or Zephyr or Rally.  
  • Knowledge or beginner level experience with any Project Management tools for example Jira, Wiki/Confluence. 
  • Knowledge on Test Automation concepts, automation frameworks, automation tools for example: selenium, Appium, cucumber, TestNG. 
  • Basic programming knowledge on Core JAVA. 

The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $30.00 

The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $35.00
