In this role you will provide functional and technical expertise to Energy Management Systems (EMS) projects and assignments. You will work to understand both the business and technical aspects of issues affecting Power System Operations and Market Operations. As the ideal candidate for this role, you will bring both an engineering and IT perspective to the solutions and services provided by the EMS department.

How you will make an impact:
- Develop and Support the Software used to run the New England Power Grid
- Analyze complex problems involving multiple applications
- Develop and execute functional requirements, designs, test plans and documentation
- Act as a technical lead for major EMS projects and assignments
- Coordinate with consultants and vendors on project deliverables
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or other relevant discipline.
- Experience in real-time system programming, and coding in C++
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team lead.
- Lead position requires 7+ years of relevant experience, including one or more years in leading software development and/or maintenance activities.
- Desired not required:
- Experience with AREVA/GE Energy Management and Markets applications.
- Master's degree in Electrical Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
- Knowledge of bulk power system operations and EMS power system analysis tools and how these applications interface with the Market Systems.
- Project management skills
- Experience with UNIX, Oracle PL/SQL, and JAVA.
