Job Description and Tasks:
The Software Engineer Lead will focus on advancing the current technology for cyber situational awareness, vulnerability remediation and asset management to include, but not limited to:
Use Agile Development Operations (DevOps) to conduct research and development; analyze and recommend system engineering improvements for enhanced cyber hardware and software concepts; allow for cyber fusion and advanced analytical capability; assure cyber operators faster discovery and improved predictive capability on existing cyber hardware and software; develop integrated system solutions; and provide improved cyber monitoring, assessment, planning and response capabilities.
The Engineering Support tasking may be funded by multiple appropriations depending on the requirement. For example, tasking associated with system engineering; and software development will be funded with RDT&E, e.g. section b described below. Production support efforts and taskings may be funded by OPN to ensure replenishment of spares is in accordance with agile development processes and updates to technical documentation. The tasking associated with maintaining, modifying and updating documentation will be funded with OMN, e.g. section a described below. The Lead will provide support in the documentation of system and system variant baselines, to include processing project management data as received, updating project files and the preparation of: (1) schedules; (2) progressive/special reports and supporting documentation; and (3) Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms) and perform the following tasks:
- Assist in maintaining, modifying and updating technical documents, model-based system artifacts, and organizational metrics;
- Employ best practices of system engineering and software-development lifecycle frameworks;
- Use Agile DevOps methodologies to deliver requirements rapidly;
- Adhere to modular software design principles for reproducible and testable code;
- Use Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment concepts and tools.
Job Requirements/Required Skills: 5 years of professional experience. Scrum Master must have experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DEVSECOPS) to deliver requirements rapidly. Must have experience evaluating services and products provided by COTS/GOTS vendors and provide recommendation. Must understand data structures and design of highly available systems.
Education: Bachelor’s in any Engineering, Scientific, Business or Management Degree. Masters in the same.
Certification Requirements.
- At least one of the following: CCNA -Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP certifications
- Spunk Certified Developer training - CI/CD, software GIT, Docker experience.
- Design enterprise architecture experience – Java or Python, Linus, SQL, React, and SPL (Splunk Search) languages
- Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification
