The Job
evo is looking for a mid-level Software Engineer to join our dynamic and growing Technology team. As Software Engineer II on our Retail Operations, you'll work closely with end-users across the business and a cross-functional team to improve our ecommerce website and the employee-facing tools used to manage the customer experience.
What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain web-based software and systems alongside other engineers by:
• building well-defined medium to large-sized features
• participating in code reviews
• investigating and fixing bugs
• writing and executing unit tests
• supporting business users
• Provide guidance and assistance to entry-level and support engineers in the form of pair programming, pull request reviews, or other daily interactions
• Contribute to functional specifications for small features
• Communicate progress to team leads with an emphasis on identifying blocking issues
• Collaborate with third-party vendors to deliver solutions, where applicable
• Research new and evolving technologies, reporting back to the team with concise findings

Requirements
What you will need

• Holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or other related field
• Has at least two years' full-time professional experience in Software Engineering
• Demonstrates strong comprehension of at least one object-oriented language, preferably C#
• Demonstrates strong comprehension of front-end web technologies including CSS, HTML, and JavaScript, preferably Angular
• Understands Computer Science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, design patterns, etc.
• Breathes problem solving and critical thinking with a measure of enthusiasm, patience, tenacity, and thoroughness
• Understands and maintains high-quality coding standards
• Is excited and inspired by the phrase "optimizing business processes"
• Can handle high pressure or emergency response situations without their forehead veins bursting
• Ability to build trust with our end users by demonstrating patience and empathy
• Self-motivated team player with great communication skills
• Excellent critical thinking abilities and sound judgment to assess requirements
• Nice-to-have:
• Deep understanding of the ASP.NET Core framework
• Experience with and ability to demonstrate understanding of cloud technologies, such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS
• Experience with Atlassian products: Jira, Service Desk, Bitbucket, etc.
• Experience with the Kanban software development workflow
