SAIC is seeking a motivated and ambitious E3C (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Capability) Software Engineer to join the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons & Guided Munitions Division (E20) to support research and development analyses in the advanced fire control gun and launcher systems in Dahlgren, VA. The E3C Software Engineer will perform software development in C++, Java, Python, Bash, and PowerShell in support of SkyView and associated subsystems.
** This position requires an ACTIVE secret clearance **
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Work within an agile environment to design, write, and test Object Oriented software (SW) components/applications through the entire SW lifecycle
- Work with system integrators, network engineers, and project managers to create software applications
- Identify and investigate solutions to technical problems/needs of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
- Develop software tools and applications based on system level requirements in C++, Bash, PowerShell, python, or Java based on the individual system needs
- Develop engineering technical material including but not limited to System Decryption Documents, Installation Guides, and Interface Control Documents
- Participate in peer reviews of requirements, design, test strategies and implementation
- Use scripting languages to produce software installers and configure operating system settings in Bash, PowerShell, Java, and Python.
- Ability to travel in support of the program
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline. Two (2) years professional technical experience.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Specialized experience in sensor integration and fire control systems performing computer hardware engineering, software design, coding and compilation of code; computer or software requirements management, computer systems or software integration; and utilizing systems engineering software tools.
- Specialized experience includes demonstrated ability to engineer complex systems with integrated software and hardware solutions. An example includes experience related to weapons systems and/or Navy programs utilizing agile software design processes, such as, but not limited to, HTML, C/C++, Unix, and Linux.
- C++ Certification
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
- Must be of U.S. Citizenship with an ACTIVE Secret security clearance
