At Torc, we have always believed that autonomous vehicle technology will transform how we travel, move freight, and do business.
A leader in autonomous driving since 2007, Torc has spent over a decade commercializing our solutions with experienced partners. Now a part of the Daimler family , we are focused solely on developing software for automated trucks to transform how the world moves freight.
Join us and catapult your career with the company that helped pioneer autonomous technology, and the first AV software company with the vision to partner directly with a truck manufacturer.
Duties: Perform software development and engineering activities supporting the delivery of autonomy algorithm software to the overall system solution within our autonomy software algorithms components. Utilize engineering skills to perform software development activities that may include, but are not limited to, software architecture, design, coding, unit testing, integration, deployment, and maintenance for a designated autonomy algorithms software component. Collaborating with a team of other software and data engineers to develop, implement, and test autonomy algorithms with focus in the areas of machine learning, deep learning computer vision and image processing. Research, prototype and develop Machine Learning models including but not limited to computer vision, image processing and multimodal sensor fusion data sources using scientific programming libraries like Tensorflow, Pytorch, Scikit-learn, Matlab and Python language. Utilize imaging and perform statistical analysis, filtering, computational image and data analysis to develop mathematical models. Design, modeling, development, evaluation, deployment of data-driven models and analytical solutions using convolutional neural networks in Machine Learning systems. Implement neural network architecture and design to solve problems in geospatial domain including segmentation, tracking and signal processing and responsible for executing full software development lifecycle activities using Python language. Complete software assignments including but not limited to software design, implementation, unit testing and deployed software maintenance while following quality, safety and process requirements and guidelines. Ensure software updates do not regress the software performance by utilizing simulation software and scenarios.
Requirements: Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field with 3 years' experience in a related Software Engineering with machine learning occupation with 2 years' experience to include: probability, linear algebra and filtering based methods; scientific computing and deep learning libraries like Tensorflow, Pytorch, Matlab, OpenCV; end-to-end computer vision development pipeline which includes researching the novel approach, developing the model to and make it production ready; Image Processing and computer vision methods to detect, classify, segment objects; Data Analytics, Machine Learning, convolutional neural networks and digital signal processing; Semantic Segmentation, object detection and localization; Python software development and unit testing. In lieu of Master's + 3, will accept Bachelor's (in fields above) + 6 years' experience in a related Software Engineering with machine learning occupation with 2 years' experience to include: probability, linear algebra and filtering based methods; scientific computing and deep learning libraries like Tensorflow, Pytorch, Matlab, OpenCV; end-to-end computer vision development pipeline which includes researching the novel approach, developing the model to and make it production ready; Image Processing and computer vision methods to detect, classify, segment objects; Data Analytics, Machine Learning, convolutional neural networks and digital signal processing; Semantic Segmentation, object detection and localization; Python software development and unit testing.
