Seeking expert in WWAN and Telephony/RIL!
WWAN is the cellular division of Zebra's largest division, Enterprise Mobile Computing (EMC). This team is responsible for all the carrier certifications of Zebra devices across the globe. We deliver NA carrier features (AT&T, VZW, T-Mobile) along with handling all the regulatory certifications (PTCRB/GCF). In addition, we work on the latest cellular technologies right from 2G-3G-4G to 5G, and proudly live by Zebra values - Accountability, Teamwork, Innovation, Agility and Integrity. We focus on delivering cutting edge features and "wow" experience for our customers and end-users.
About you:
As a seasoned WWAN tech lead you will be working in delivering cellular features across different carriers around the globe for zebra's enterprise division. You will be working on next level chipset from Qualcomm to fulfill the needs of customers and carrier requirements.
Must reside within 50 miles of the primary work location- Holtsville, NY.
Responsibilities:

• Establishes requirements for highly complex software design projects and may lead a team responsible for establishing requirements. Insure correct features are incorporated first in the projects.
• Architects and designs highly complex software projects. Completes all phases of the projects. Follows through on all in-process and final inspection activities.
• Drives code review of projects. Develops and applies technical and quality improvements.
• Creates new programs, technologies and solutions based on novel or unique ideas. Insures new ideas and methodologies are documented for use by software teams.
• Uses status as a knowledge leader in software design and functional knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines and program management to provide technical leadership to a given program.
• Defines requirements for and may design complex new tools to aid in the analysis and solving of complex problems.
• Initiates cross-company collaboration and develops positive relationships with other engineering disciplines.
• Exercises judgment (within broadly defined policies and practices) in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Interacts with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines. Represent the organization as the principal customer contact and often performs project leadership.
• May coordinate the activities of other personnel.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline required.
• Minimum 8+ years of work experience or 5 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree.
• Minimum 5+ years in Telephony/RIL required.
• Must have experience developing carrier features of NA (AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile) and experience in fixing and debugging NA carrier issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3GPP Wireless knowledge in 4G/5G
• Expertise in JAVA and Android
• Experience with mobile LTE(4G)/5G technologies especially telephony, HAL and QCRIL
• Solid understanding of RIL and Telephony framework
• Proficiency with debugging in embedded software systems. Familiaritywith JTAG
• Exposure to one or more telecom networks and technologies like gsm, 3g, lte, ims,5g RAN architecture
• Worked on debugging private 5G issues
• Have working knowledge on eSIM
• Demonstrated working experience with NA carriers like AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile
• Demonstrated understanding of the carrier specs and have experience to implement the carrier features
• Debug experience of Field test issues

Salary: USD 114800.00 - USD 172200.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
