Job Summary
The Pittsburgh Pirates are in search of a talented Software Engineer and valued member of the Baseball Operations’ Research & Development team. This position will primarily focus on front-end development for our new single platform designed to centralize information for players, coaches, and front-office personnel and drive data-driven decision-making throughout Baseball Operations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is motivated to build a product that transforms how the Pirates organization consumes and collaborates around data as it strives to make better in-game decisions, acquire and develop the best talent, and win championships. Responsibilities:
- Build easy-to-use frontend applications specifically designed for baseball operations. Create reusable parts and code that can grow and stay easy to manage over time.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and implement solutions aligned with operational needs.
- Drive improvements to the user interface and user experience, incorporating feedback to optimize usability.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Review code thoroughly to ensure quality and scalability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer and future development.
- Stay updated on industry trends, propose innovative ideas, and integrate new technologies to elevate existing systems.
