Serco is looking for a motivated Software Engineer to join our Air Force Depot Maintenance Application Consolidation team. This individual will use their skills and expertise to help migrate applications into web based platforms. You will be part of a team comprised of government personnel and contractors that work closely with DISA and other programs to provide quality support. Our team has been recognized by the US Air Force as providing top quality services in support of the customers.
We are looking for candidates in either the Dayton Ohio/Wright Patterson AFB area or the Oklahoma City/Tinker AFB area.
In this role, you will:
- Work collaboratively on Agile teams and can complete user stories independently with minimal oversight and guidance.
- Develop and manage development tasks using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Contribute to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the organization; contributes to acceptance/functional testing duties and part of incremental feature development.
- Adhere to, promote, and maintain development and testing standards and best practices
- Assist development/test teams in activities with acceptance testing, load testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning as required.
- Communicate committed stories for the upcoming sprint to backlog owners and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- US Citizenship
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years of experience
- The ability to obtain a NACI
- PHP (non-framework) experience
- HTML5/CSS3 experience
- Oracle and PL/SQL experience
- Javascript experience
- 2+ years of Agile experience (including the Atlassian suite)
- Ability to Travel up to 10%
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field
- Jira, Confluence, and Git or Git-based tools (e.g., Bitbucket).
