Job Designation
The Engineer II, Software provides extensive expertise in the development of a range of software, per product requirements and specifications. Performs code design, software development, testing and integration.
Job Core Responsibilities
- Building innovative VR applications, including contributions towards software development, architecture, and documentation.
- Contribute to development planning, build management, and DevOps.
Job Specifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field
Personal attributes required for this position:
- At least 3 years relevant experience (e.g. game/simulation development)
- Strong understanding of VR development
- Strong C# programming skills and ability to grasp complex systems
- Very comfortable with Git or Perforce source control for code and asset management
- Strong understanding of software architecture and the ability to develop systems that contribute to a powerful, extensible, and reusable core framework
- Expertise in game networking
- Expertise in at least one of the other core systems in Unity: graphics, audio, physics, input, user interface, AI, or gameplay programming.
- Experience with creative problem-solving – must be able to overcome obstacles with a unique perspective to benefit the team
- Familiar with profiling, debugging, and performance optimization of Unity games
- Experience working with artists and integrating art assets and animations
- Experience working with project managers and QA teams to organize work in Jira or other task / bug tracking systems
- Experience programming with 3rd party SDKs and APIs (i.e. utilizing 3rd party hardware and software)
- Clear, proactive communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
