Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking an undergraduate student studying Software Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field. The student will be helping to develop an adapter from a data acquisition system to a data warehousing platform as well as helping with the Mixed Reality model (game development) and web interface. Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming, and RESTful APIs is desired.
Minimum Requirements:
- Undergraduate student studying Software Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field
- Experience or coursework in C#, JavaScript
- Complete this application, which is used to place students based on their academic interests, coursework, knowledge and communication skills
- Have the ability to pass a background check
- Applicants are subject to the requirements of DOE O 142.3B, Unclassified Foreign National Access Program.
- Enrolled full time student status at an accredited college or university (undergraduate, graduate, PhD)
- Possess a minimum overall 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Possess authorization to work in the U.S.
- Current Resume or CV
- Unofficial Transcripts (include current and completed degree programs)
- Current class schedule and number of credits

INL is a science-based, applied engineering national laboratory dedicated to supporting the U.S. Department of Energy's mission in nuclear energy research, science, and national defense. With more than 5,000 scientists, researchers, and support staff, the laboratory works with national and international governments, universities and industry partners to discover new science and development technologies that underpin the nation's nuclear and renewable energy, national security, and environmental missions. INL hosts over 450 undergraduate and graduate students each year to support INL's mission. Opportunities for interns at INL range from nuclear engineering to cybersecurity and include non-scientific positions in various operations and business subject areas.
Interns will spend the first week of their assignment working with their mentor to outline their work scope and to secure resources for a successful internship. For the next several weeks, the mentor will provide considerable program assistance and mentorship to the intern. In addition to regular activities, interns are encouraged to attend weekly seminars, tours and community events crafted with career development in mind. Completion of a final project is highly recommended and can be completed through a variety of mediums - a traditional poster, electronic presentation or video.

Benefits, Wage, and Relocation:INL internships include a nationally competitive wage. Eligible interns are provided holiday pay, and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.
