Our team in Portland, OR is seeking a talented CS/CompE/EE/Physics/Math student Intern to be part of a team of research scientists and engineers building advanced sonar algorithms and sensor systems for autonomous underwater vehicles.  

The selected individual should have a basic proficiency with software engineering, a passion for applied mathematics, as well as an ability to think critically and creatively. Ideal candidates will have a high-level understanding of the basic organizing principles used in modern computer architecture spanning the full hardware/software stack and be familiar with some machine learning algorithms. Experience (or coursework) centered on designing and building software programs is preferred. The successful candidate will assist in the design and implementation of advanced algorithms and devices.  

Required Qualifications 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, physics, math, or related field  
  • Some familiarity with signal processing  
  • Familiarity with at least one major programming language or scripting language (i.e. MATLAB)  
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral  
  • Great attitude and a passion for cool engineering  
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED 
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with embedded systems design 
  • Basic proficiency in JAVA and/or C++ 

Position Location: Portland, OR 

Schedule: 40 hours/week 

Employment Duration: 3 months, with possibility of extension
