Form of workAscension Engineering Group, a Boecore company, is actively seeking a Software Developer in (Hybrid) Colorado Springs, CO, to support the development of the Enterprise Management and Control (EM&C) system for the Department of Defense (DOD) Satellite Communication (SATCOM) Enterprise. The ideal candidate will perform software development tasks to deliver new products and services to the EM&C system.
Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
- Responsible for developing, deploying, and testing software using Java and/or JavaScript based on tasks assigned through the Agile workflows.
- Work closely with system engineers, testers, and on-site user support personnel to support system updates, analyze and resolve system issues, and ensure project objectives are met.
- Responsible for maintaining and managing the implementation of external and internal interfaces, and other tasks assigned by the chief engineer and product owner.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Engineer Level 2: Bachelor's degree Engineering or a related technical discipline and 3 or more years of relevant experience, Master's degree with no experience.
- Engineer Level 3: Bachelor's degree Engineering or a related technical discipline and 7 or more years relevant experience, Master's degree and four or more years relevant experience.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET security clearance (requires U.S. Citizenship)
- Minimum of one-year working experience with Web-based development, including Java or JavaScript development languages
- Software and system-level debugging experience, including the ability to identify problems in established code and make modifications as necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current U.S. Government SECRET security clearance (requires U.S. Citizenship)
- Security+ certification
- Familiarization with modern IT infrastructure capabilities, including virtualization, cloud deployment, and containerization
- Experience supporting programs through requirements reviews and design reviews
- Familiarization with DOD communication systems and subsystems (e.g., C2ISR platforms, SATCOM, data links)
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team using tools to assist system development, such as Jira and Confluence, is highly desirable
Salary Range: $72,000 - $119,600
