Description:

SUMMARY

The Software Engineer will focus on applying the principles of engineering to software development. This role is responsible for writing and modifying software applications, and automated tests to ensure quality and relevant documentation. The Software Engineer works within an Agile team and is a critical part of effective communication throughout the software development life cycle.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify requirements and solutions
  • Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade systems
  • Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback
  • Comply with project plans and industry standards
  • Work with Product team to translate business requirements into high-value features
  • Be an active participant in a self-organized scrum development team
  • Help ensure user stories are well-groomed and have clear, objective outcomes
  • Be an active participant in Reviews and Retrospectives, share ideas and constructive feedback
  • Produce increasingly accurate story point and hour estimates
  • Develop secure, performant code that meets quality standards
  • Develop tests to help ensure quality, unit/component tests, integration tests
  • Demonstrate changes to Product Owners and stakeholders
  • On-call rotation for emergency product/client support
  • Follows all company policies and procedures
  • Complete and demonstrate a full understanding of ongoing training concepts and applications
  • In addition to the essential functions and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:

o Meet company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Education/Skills/Experience:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in relevant roles preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and meets deadlines

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills

Physical requirements:

  • Stand or sit for extended periods of time
  • Talk, hear, both in person and by telephone

Work Environment:

  • Primarily indoors, controlled temperature environment
  • While performing in this environment the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • Ability to work in a plant work environment with a variation of noise levels to include high to moderate noise due to hand tools, machinery, heavy equipment, forklift, crane, hoist, pallet jack, alarms, and general conversations
  • Ability to work at a consistent pace
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate in a professional manner
  • Sustains housekeeping standards in accordance with appearance guidelines

Safety Requirements:

  • Immediately report incidents involving injury, illness, property, or equipment damage
  • Comply with all company and customer OSHA, safety policies, procedures, rules, and best practices
  • Report any unsafe task, operation, or safety hazards immediately
  • Be constantly aware of personal safety and that of coworkers

Training to be completed:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the vision, goals, and objectives of the business
  • All relevant Company Business System software
  • Company Learning Management System software
  • Successfully complete continuing education required to maintain knowledge of systems and programs
  • Learn to develop Secure Code
  • Learn Cloud Practitioner skills

Certificates/Licenses:

  • Must be able to pass all applicable background checks
