Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in a Social Work required.
  • LSW or LCSW preferred.
  • experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting preferred.

Qualifications

Job Description: Supplies clinical supervision and direction to Social Work and Therapy staff and offers clinical guidance to other clinical departments as needed in conjunction with DCS. Ensures Department compliance with standards set by accrediting and regulatory bodies. Maintains a program of quality care and peer review in conjunction with the Director of Clinical Services. Implements and reviews departmental policies and procedures. Supplies Social Work services to all inpatient populations. Maintains modified caseload as well as responsibilities assigned.

 

Job Specifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to prove competency in each criterion listed in this job description. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability needed. Staff must prove flexibility for re-assignment to units providing care to varied populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Education: Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited post-Baccalaureate required

 

Licensure / Certification: LSW or LCSW Preferred

 

Experience: Two years post-master experience in an inpatient/outpatient psychiatric setting or a combination thereof as well as supervisory /administrative experience within a health care or industry setting preferred

 

Knowledge/Skills: Family dynamics, social casework, interpersonal relationships and regional social policy. Knowledge of therapeutic boundaries, therapeutic processes, growth and development, limit-setting and behavior management, crisis management of aggressive behaviors, CPR and HWC training. Communication skills and ability to teach patients.

 

Supervision Exercised: Provides direct supervision to Therapy and Social Work and offers clinical guidance to other clinical departments as needed, in conjunction with DCS.

 

Supervision Received: Director of Clinical Services

                                                           

General Working Environment: Hospital setting. Staff working in this position maybe required to intervene and assist with aggressive patients utilizing Handle With Care training skillset. Works in a well-lighted and ventilated setting, is subject to frequent interruptions, and is involved with the patients and personnel throughout designated unit under varying conditions and circumstances. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to HIV and Hepatitis B Viruses

 

Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and be able to walk and stand for extended periods. Able to participate in crisis prevention intervention. The Physical Requirements described herein are representative of those, which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities, who are otherwise qualified, to perform the primary functions. Drug/Alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
