Salary/Position Classification
  • $25 Hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, grant-related position.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work with project contacts to tell their stories and promote their connectivity through visual and written content development.
  • Research, write, edit and publish connectivity and project content, including tribal and rural community profiles, listings for services and content meetings about connectivity, as well as in blog posts, Social Media posts, listings, itineraries, articles, news releases and other content as needed.
  • Digital content will include photography and video where appropriate.
  • The Content Developer will obtain necessary permission to take images (photo and/or video) and/or will work with tribes and communities to secure appropriate imagery.
  • In addition to creating content, the Developer will proofread all content to adhere to in-house style guide and brand voice.
  • Optimize content for keywords that perform in top search results for web content.
  • Create and submit regular reports indicating progress on content gathered/created.
  • Track Social Media matrices and points of contact for grant projects.

  • Must be able to work with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to represent the grant team and project in a professional manner.
  • Ability to lift materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
  • Ability and availability to travel in-state on short notice.
  • Ability to optimize content for keywords that perform in top search results
  • Knowledge of American Indian cultural understandings.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Tribal Justice, Women Studies or related field.
  • Prior experience with Social Media and Web Based content.
  • Must be knowledgeable about Windows environment software, specifically Word and presentation software (such as PowerPoint).
  • Must be proficient in APA Styles.
  • Experience with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite and/or other publishing tools, as well as WordPress and other website platforms is a must.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in copywriting, graphic design, programming or a related field.
  • Prefer candidates with previous experience working with a Native American organization and/or a not-for-profit organization.
