Description
Job Scope:
The Snowplow Operator/Snow Shoveler participates in a team setting to safely and effectively clear snow and manage risk associated with snow/ice. The incumbent is expected to perform snow removal duties with a focus on quality and timely execution.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Operate trucks and loaders with mounted snowplows or pushers in a safe, productive, responsible, and efficient manner following all recommended operating procedures.
2. Prepare and show up for shifts free from the influence of any drugs, alcohol, or medicines that have an effect on safe and productive equipment operation.
3. Conduct pre-shift inspections and maintenance on assigned all vehicles and equipment.
4. Operate salters, heavy equipment, and plow trucks to remove contamination.
5. Safely remove snow, ice, and slush from the parking area, pathways, and other assigned areas
6. Pile snow in designated and approved locations only
7. Control ice accumulations at jobsites with the safe and responsible use of de-icing agents (salt, treated salt, liquids, or other de-icing chemicals)
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work safely near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis.
Required Education and Experience:
Candidates must have a valid U.S. Driver's License
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and work in a drug-free environment.
Respond in a timely manner (within 30 minutes) when called to assist in snow plowing.
Must be comfortable working with and operating heavy equipment.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to lift a minimum of 10 lbs. repeatedly.
2. Work outdoors in various conditions including extreme cold, rain, dust, noise, and wet conditions.
Salary:
$20 p/h Shoveler
$30 p/h Plow Operator
$30+ p/h Loader Operator
