Smoke Aide (Long Term Care)

Maison du Monde Living Center in Abbeville, LA is seeking smoking assistance aides for our 128-bed skilled nursing facility. This position provides smoking and safety monitoring through direct resident observation.

Full-Time – 2p - 10p shift; and 10p – 6a

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates an understanding of the facility’s smoking policies and procedures while functioning as an observation technician.
• Provides direct observation to assigned areas as needed.
• Participates as part of a team to identify and report safety issues.
• Seeks assistance as needed with removal of any potential safety hazard from resident areas.
• Demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules, works to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participates in organizational and department safety programs.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service and is friendly and sociable with the residents.

Requirements:

• Eighteen years or older
• Healthcare experience a plus
• Customer and resident focused
• Ability to apply critical thinking skills in making decisions
• Background check required
