Job description

As a Smart Home Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and providing technical support for our electromechanical systems. You'll also be expected to understand the basics of home networking, IoT devices, and home automation systems. Your expertise will extend to training our window dealers, addressing customer inquiries, collaborating with internal teams, and contributing to the improvement of our products and services.

Highlights of your role

  • Electromechanical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to the low voltage electromechanical systems controlling our windows and doors. Serve as the go-to expert for complex technical challenges.
  • Smart Home Integration: Understand the fundamentals of home networking, IoT devices, and home automation systems. Work closely with Smart Home integrators to grasp the intricacies of programming and integrating internet-connected devices into large-scale automation systems like Control4 or Crestron Home.
  • Product Expertise: Develop an in-depth understanding of the electromechanical systems utilized in our products. Train our window dealers to ensure their proficiency in handling and troubleshooting these systems.
  • Customer Interaction: Engage directly with homeowners who are encountering technical issues with our products. Provide remote support via phone or email, guiding them through troubleshooting steps to effectively resolve issues.
  • On-Site Support: Travel to customer locations when required to address and rectify electromechanical system problems that cannot be resolved remotely.
  • Collaboration with Sales Teams: Collaborate with our internal sales force to provide technical insights and assistance during the sales process, ensuring accurate communication of product capabilities and benefits to potential customers.
  • Research and Development: Work closely with the research and development team to communicate field-based issues and suggest improvements. Contribute to the enhancement of product reliability and performance.
  • Internal Training: Develop and conduct training programs for our internal customer service teams. Empower them to independently address simpler customer issues, enhancing overall customer satisfaction.

 

You're a good fit if you have

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electromechanical systems, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Basic understanding of home networking, IoT devices, and Smart Home automation.
  • Familiarity with Control4, Crestron Home, or similar automation systems is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills for effectively interacting with various stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
  • Previous experience in technical training and customer support roles is a plus.
