Job description

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist the Small Business Program Manager with master vendor maintenance, policy research, data analysis, planning and development of the Small Business Program.

  • Maintain the Small Business Program files which include: (a) the vendor portal, (b) directory registrations, and (c) Small Business certifications in an organized and easily retrievable system.
  • Compile and organize documents to input data and information according to priority, policy, and procedure.
  • Research and provide input to develop and/or update an internal process for the Small and Emerging Business Program operations.
  • Identify and report industry specific patterns, trends and best practices that support the Small and Emerging Business program.
  • Provide data and performance analysis that measure our goals against industry standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual program reports when necessary.
  • Track and monitor payments to SEBs, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure SEB participation commitments are met using supplier diversity management software.
  • Perform tasks that are confidential in nature.

Support the Small Business Program Department with community and industry engagement.

  • Assist with organizing community outreach events and meetings.
  • Research, recommend, and maintain program supplies and promotional items.
  • Communicate newsletters, award programs, community events, and training sessions for external customers.

Maintain high standards of professionalism and service when dealing with the public, clients, contractors, and MCCNO staff.

  • Participate in company- wide training of the Small Business Program to ensure staff is able to fulfill the Small Business Program’s mission, vision, and objectives.
  • Assist with a vendor survey/feedback process and compile results to analyze program accomplishments and opportunities.

Assist the Small Business Program Manager with routine and non-routine projects as necessary to allow for an efficient workflow and ensure the departmental objectives are met.

Create analytical reports for departments or divisions as needed.

Experience

Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university; and two to four experience and/or training in related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
