We are seeking a Slurry Operator to join our team! You will help oversee operational activities and ensure excellent quality control. 
Summary
Perform physical activities for the placement of slurry on roads, parking lots, shopping mall pavements or other high-traffic, low speed pavement surfaces. Some tasks require little skill and can be learned quickly; others (lead positions) require considerable experience or training. All positions are often required to work outside in all kinds of weather, subjecting employees to extreme hot, cold and wet conditions. This is a traveling position with home time every other weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Handling and Moving Objects – Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and moving materials and manipulating things.
  • Controlling Machines and Processes – Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
  • Monitor Processes, Materials or Surroundings – Monitor and review information from materials, events or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
  • Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment – Servicing, repairing, adjusting and testing machines, devices, moving parts and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical (not electronic) principles.
  • Preparing Job Site for Construction - Set up markers, cones and barricades and may flag vehicles to control the flow of traffic.
  • Teamwork – This is a teamwork operation. Must be willing to help out in any areas and with any crew. Also, must not be afraid to ask for help to get the job done. Oversee and coordinate plant operations and activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion
  • Load and unload equipment and materials
  • Provide innovative solutions to improve plant efficiency
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on the plant
  • Log and record readings for equipment and procedures 

Qualifications:

  • Must be minimum of 21 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
  • Previous experience in plant operations or other related fields
  • Familiarity with plant tools and equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to understand and communicate information to co-workers and management.
