Slitter Operator

This is a position at Sheffield Steel Products where you wil work in a steel warehouse as the lead Slitter Operator.

Job duties include:

• Set up and operate slitter to slit steel coils to customer specification and properly tag cuts to be packaged.
• Resolve quality issues caused by quality of material, tooling, or incorrect setup and report any deviations to plant supervisor for aproval.
• Supervise slitter helper.
• Communicate with crane operator for proper packaging and quality.
• Operate crane if necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Strong mathmatical and mechancical ability and knowledge of the use of calipers and micrometers.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
