This role is an engineer-test configuration and development in the Integration and Test team, supporting our mission to return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Lunar Permanence is Blue Origin's team dedicated to developing mission architectures such as our planned Lunar Lander program, Blue Moon (Link: https://www.blueorigin.com/blue-moon ). Our Lunar Transportation team is developing our lunar landers to demonstrate core capabilities - including the BE-7 landing engine, precision landing sensors, and advanced integrated power and propulsion architecture.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Plan, develop and lead test planning for component level testing qualification and acceptance testing.
• Apply direct experience to component Vehicle Test planning and execution of structural, vibe, acoustic, modal, thermal, EMI/EMC, performance, leak, proof, shock.
• Work with the responsible and systems engineers to plan tests of the vehicle subsystems, ensuring the tests are designed to verify the pertinent requirements.
• Design, procure, and install test support equipment; manage vendors and subcontractors during installation.
• Troubleshoot issues that arise during testing.
• Reduce, analyze, and archive test data to support verification tasks.
• Perform root cause, system hazard analysis and failure investigations.
• Proactively prepare status updates and communicates both within the organization and with direct customers.
• Have frequent inter-organizational and customer interactions on difficult technical issues.
• Work independently to determine and develop approaches to solutions.
• Participate in test readiness review, pre and post test briefings, and post test reviews.
• Manage procedural redlines and updates during test campaigns.
• Coordinate test crews, support equipment and vehicle configurations for testing.
• Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations.
• Lead daily test operations, operate test consoles, direct technician work and coordinate with internal and external customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
• BS in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or related technical discipline
• 3+ years of applicable experience
• Experience with space vehicle component or integrated Vehicle Testing including structural, vibe, acoustic, modal, thermal, EMI/EMC, performance, leak, proof, shock
• Understand the Test Like You Fly assessment and exception process
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
• Experience working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with participating in NASA technical reviews
• Experience with test facility instrumentation and Data Acquisition and Control Systems
• Understands/experience with hazardous operations
• Experience with scripting (Python or other scripting language)
