Job Description:
SLC Management is seeking an intern to join our Insurance Asset Management (IAM) team. This position would offer broad industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates with a particular interest in Fixed Income Asset Management.
This position is part of the SLC Management internship program, which runs from June - August 2024. The intern should expect to work in-person, in our Redmond, WA office. The hours for this position are generally 6:00 AM PST - 2:30 PM PST.
What's in it for you?
The role provides the opportunity to work across the organization with credit research analysts, traders, portfolio managers, accountants, and actuaries to develop competency across business units. Additionally, you will coordinate, research, and present various projects for the credit research, trading, portfolio management, accounting, and actuarial modelling teams. The Investment Intern will bring a new perspective to help improve existing work flows across the organization through automation and data analysis
Desired Skills

• Self-motivated, and self-directed; effectively manage and coordinate multiple projects and tasks
• Strong interest in, and desire to learn about, the fixed income markets
• Positive attitude and a collaborative work style
• Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret data and communicate findings in a clear and logical manner
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products with particular emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint

Requirements:

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program, preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other related field
• Expected graduation between December 2024 to June 2025 preferred
• Ability to work 30-40 hours a week, with a 6:00AM PST start time
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must be able to respond negatively to a Disciplinary History Questionnaire as required by securities regulations
