GENERAL FUNCTION

Perform a wide variety of pre-production testing, preparations for production, production and post-production testing of coatings, inks and dyes.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all aspects of coating, inks and dye batch-making procedure, including final and in-process testing.
  • Perform analysis of raw materials as necessary.
  • Perform packing and shipping paperwork associated with external shipments.
  • Collect, transfer and dispose waste materials. Maintain work areas, equipment and storage in safe, clean, orderly state.
  • Perform calibration of testing instrumentation.
  • Some light mechanical maintenance duties required.
  • Assist the supervisor in coating related functions.
  • Is an active member of department and facility teams. Actively participates and shares knowledge with team members and other teams. Challenges the team with new ideas and models good work habits. Attends and participates in internal team meetings. Supports the success of the team and takes initiative and responsibility to ensure the team’s goals and objectives are met. Helps others to achieve and succeed with team objectives and supports the growth and development of his/her team.
  • Supports the facility’s policies and procedures and is responsible for a healthy and safe team environment.
  • Takes pride and ownership in his/her own work, the facility and the team area.
  • Serves as a training resource.
  • Supports the development of others.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good math skills including decimals, fractions, percentages and algebra
  • Understanding of the metric weight system, able to convert from metric system to U.S. customary system and back to metric system
  • Working knowledge of basic mechanics including pumps, piping and solenoid valves
  • Required to wear respirator apparatus and other safety equipment
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities.

 

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
