About the Role: As a Site Reliability Engineer with GLOBO, you’ll help ensure our products are reliable, available, and error-free. We are a 24x7 shop on our mission of “helping people communicate when it matters most”. This path gives you the opportunity to work with our customers, other internal teams to ensure timely resolution of issues. This role will allow you to live somewhere between the Operations and Engineering lifestyles. As a Site Reliability Engineer, working with and reporting to our VP of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for researching and resolving production bugs and performance issues as well as managing incidents and diagnosing production performance issues. You’ll work closely with the engineering and engineering operations team to triage client tickets, research detected exceptions and problems, and build on our runbooks. This is truly a job that will keep each day interesting and provide opportunities to grow your capabilities as the company grows and scales. Your experience might lie in software engineering or DevOps but your drive to provide exceptional experiences and love of learning will help propel you into this role.
Responsibilities:

  • Automate systems using frameworks such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Capistrano and/or Terraform

  • Manage and Monitor AWS services directly hosted or hosted through a third party solution provider

  • Manage SIEM, GaurdDuty and other security systems

  • Ownership of Incidents, managing response and communication to internal and external stakeholders

  • Diagnose and resolve bugs to ensure our clients and staff have the best error free experience possible

  • Manage and Deploy Mobile and Web Applications at scale

  • Respond to incidents resolving infrastructure, platform and vendor issues to drive towards our five nines of availability 

  • Help manage our production monitoring capabilities, building new testing capabilities and maintaining existing.

  • Help manage deployments of new builds of our applications into production

  • Monitor, diagnose and resolve performance issues

To summarize, we've built a high-availability system that enables real-time interpretation through voice, video and chat. On the back-end, we provide visualized data that delivers powerful user insights. Our stack includes the following:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field

  • 2+ years of experience developing software

  • 2+ years of experience managing servers and IT infrastructure

  • Knowledge of Information Security Fundamentals including HIPAA, SOC2, NIST and ISO 27001 compliance

  • Working knowledge of Ruby, Python or a similar language

  • A good understanding of managing and querying PostgreSQL 

  • Understanding of Redis or other in memory database technologies

  • Authorized to legally work for any employer in the United States

  • Willingness to submit to any requested background checks

: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.


GLOBO is located in the Philadelphia area, but we are open to this role being a remote position.
