Simulation Technician / System Administrator

KBR is seeking a skilled Simulation Technician / System Administrator to support military training events and exercises for the Army's Joint Training Program - Air and Missile Defense (JTP-AMD) Simulation Center. The JTP-AMD SIM Center is a government facility located in Fort Bliss, Texas, with simulation requirements that span multiple theaters abroad and other government facilities/locations within the US. Travel is required, averaging between 10 - 20 percent a year.
This position requires the ability to interact with customers within the US Government and other external agencies. In addition, the applicant must be a US Citizen and have an active US SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE or higher.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES / FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as a technical expert in system administration for complex operating systems.
- Support configuration management tasks for various information systems and network devices.
- Implement security measures to safeguard information systems and sensitive data.
- Diagnose, resolve, and document information system hardware and software issues.
- Perform installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and software.
- Provide technical and operational support for the Flight Mission Simulator Digital (FMSD).
- Provide technical and operational support for the Reconfigurable Tabletop Trainer (RT3).
- Serve as a technical expert in the setup, integrations, and testing of PATRIOT Air Defense Systems into a simulated training environment via secure networks.
- Perform scenario scripter tasks using model and simulation drivers.
- Resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
- Provide technical support and recommendations during military training events and exercises.
- Develop written reports related to technical support of simulated training events and exercises.
- Interact with government customers and perform functions as part of a technical support team.
- Inventory, pack, and transport information systems and their components to distributed locations.
- Travel overseas and within the US as needed, in support of simulated training events.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must have a US SECRET Security Clearance.
- Requires five (5) years of Air Defense System-related experience (minimum).
- Education requirements must include a Bachelors, Bachelor of Science or Engineering / or 4 additional years of Air Defense System-related experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- Three (3) years of System Administrator or IT experience (minimum).
- Approved IAT-II Level Baseline Certifications (DoD 8570.01-M), i.e., Security+ CE or higher.
