Overview
Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Simulation Technician assists the Simulation Center with responsibilities related to the preparation and clean-up of classrooms, and all the simulation equipment/supplies for courses and scenarios offered at the Las Madrinas Simulation Center. May assist with scheduling, ordering supplies/equipment, and maintaining inventory of said supplies and equipment. The Simulation technician will also perform periodic minor maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mannequins to ensure the functionality of simulation center equipment, including multimedia devices, and will work under the supervision of Simulation Specialists and Nursing Professional Development Specialists (NPDs). This position will work in conjunction with the Simulation Center Administrator, staff, and faculty in all simulation courses, scenarios, and research efforts to create a realistic learning environment and experience for learners at the CHLA Simulation Center.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
• Some experience in healthcare simulation (via internship or work related training)
• Experience with Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat Reader, PowerPoint
• Ability to perform data entry into and query for information in an equipment maintenance database. Ability to lift equipment, push/pull equipment carts, kneel, stand bend, and reach during equipment repair. Ability to be a self-starter and take initiative.
• Skill in testing electronic and computer equipment. Skill in manual dexterity, hand-to-eye coordination, and color vision.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
• Associate's degree, medical equipment repairer, military training, or academic work aligned with simulation in healthcare.
• Basic knowledge of mathematics, anatomy, physiology, biology, physics, medical terminology, English, computer and networking peripherals, and professional skills.
Pay Scale Information
USD $37,323.00 - USD $61,952.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
