Silk Screening Team Lead

Job Summary:

The silkscreen team members work closely with the other functional areas including those in Receiving, Kitting distribution, Engineering, Fabrication, and Assembly. The silkscreen team member is responsible for manual silkscreening operations on first shift in a fast-paced, rapid-changing environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. Adhere to all safety policies in silkscreen with the demonstration of proper PPE.
2. Set up and/or create fixtures to ensure proper artwork placement provided by the engineering drawings.
3. Create and/or modify screen frames to accommodate complex parts.
4. Develop screens with artwork films that are used to create production parts.
5. Demonstrate an understanding of ink color theory for mixing inks to match customer requested colors.
6. Manually silkscreen parts in accordance with the engineering drawings to meet customer specifications.
7. Having a forward-thinking mentality when working out multi color jobs and how to best utilize your time and tools.
8. Inventory management of screen frames, inks, and tools. Able to re-purpose screens when necessary.
9. Identify lean improvements in the silkscreen area.
10. Help establish silkscreen work instructions.

Competencies:

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications:

• Positive “can do” attitude
• Material Handling experience preferred.
• Must be able to interpret product routings, bill of materials, and engineering drawings.

Education

High School Diploma

Experience and/or Training

Previous silk-screening experience preferred.

Physical and mental demands

Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Work Environment

The work environment in the MPE building ranges from 70 degrees Fahrenheit in Spring, Fall, and Winter seasons. Summer season may become warm and temperatures may reach 90 degrees Fahrenheit or more. The facility is clean, and the work pace is considered moderate to fast paced.
