Join us in our mission to perfect interactive environments. We are seeking a temporary Signal Processing Engineer. As a Signal Processing Engineer, you'll be at the core of our presence-tracking initiatives, leveraging mmWave radar, LiDAR, and more to transform the way interactive spaces are understood and improved. This position reports to the Director of Engineering.
This is a temporary 6 month position with the possibility of becoming a permanent position, depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and fine-tune algorithms tailored for mmWave radar presence detection within Gumband’s ecosystem.
- Collaborate with teams to seamlessly integrate radar processing solutions into our exhibits.
- Test and iterate on Signal Processing algorithms, ensuring reliable and accurate detection across various interactive environments.
- Stay at the forefront of technological advancements in radar and other relevant sensor technologies.
- Provide technical insights during integration and testing phases, addressing challenges and ensuring our solutions are top-tier.
- Document designs and findings, creating resources that can be referenced by the team and our stakeholders.
- Engage in thorough code and design reviews, upholding and elevating Gumband's technical standards.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within Gumband.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. A Master's or PhD is a plus.
- Proven experience with mmWave radar technology, especially in presence detection scenarios.
- Familiarity with tools such as MATLAB, Python, and C/C++ for algorithm development and simulation.
- In-depth knowledge of real-time processing platforms and DSP processors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills paired with excellent communication abilities.
- Detail-focused and committed to achieving the pinnacle of performance and accuracy.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience or understanding of interactive environments or exhibit design.
- Knowledge of integrating data into third-party platforms like Google Lookr or Adobe Analytics.
- Enthusiasm to research and adopt emerging sensor technologies and Signal Processing techniques.
This position is based in our studio in Pittsburgh, PA. Hybrid work arrangements will be considered.
The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $75,000 to $180,000. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
