SPI is looking for an entry to mid-level Fabricator to join the team. This is a great opportunity for any individual looking to develop their professional craft in custom fabrication.

Previous Experience working in signage and themed environments is preferred.
Potential candidates will be responsible for fabrication, welding, and assembly of signage and other custom elements based on shop drawings.


All candidates would be required to perform assembly and fabrication of wood, metal, and plastics that includes, but is not limited to:

• Reading Shop Drawings and Understanding Material Types
• Measuring with Hard and Soft Measuring Tapes
• Basic Math

• Cutting and Shearing Elements with Hand Tools and Machines
• Drilling and Tapping Holes
• Grinding and Sanding Elements
• Aluminum Welding (per AWS requirements) both MIG and (TIG BONUS)
• Bending and Clamping Elements for Assembly and Adhesion
• Wiring per UL48 Requirements
• Mechanically Assembling Structures Together All candidates will be required to weld aluminum daily and steel occasionally per AWS requirements. Candidates must have extensive knowledge of reading and understanding welding symbols. Candidates will be required to perform weld procedures to produce coupons for weld testing by 3rd party compliance organization. All candidates may be asked to perform a weld test during interview process.

Fabricators will be required to used hand tools and machinery daily to mechanically fasten elements or employ traditional fabrication methods of machining, bending, cutting, shearing, and forming. Fabricators must have a working knowledge of electrical to wire electrical signs and illuminated elements per UL requirements.

Candidates must be able to use various tools which include, but are not limited to:
• Grinders
• Sanders
• Screwdrivers
• Drills
• Saws
• Shears
• Welders

On rare occasion candidates may be required to perform on-site installations of elements they have fabricated. In those instances, Fabricators will be safety trained in accordance with Client requirements.

Every member of the team is required to inspect their own work before moving on to the next process, each Fabricator is required to provide their own quality control inspections prior to a final quality control inspection that moves each element to the next step. For all welds, an internal welding compliance manager will review per AWS requirements of fit-up, in process, and complete.
All team members are required to clean their work area, tools, tables, and equipment daily.

All candidates must be able to work effectively as an individual or with a team. They must be able to perform tasks under time pressure deadlines.

Safety is a priority as SPI and all team members are required to use all personal protective equipment as required per task that is being performed, PPE includes, but is NOT limited to:
• Safety Glasses
• Half- mask or dust/mist respirator
• Welding Jackets, gloves, or Sleeves
• Welding Helmet/Hood
• Close-toe work boots All SPI employees are required to multi-task on several projects at once to stay productive and efficient. Team members can have 2-5 projects in various stages going at once. Candidates must meet the following requirements prior to being considered for full-time or part-time employment:

• Must be able to pass a drug test and background check

• Must have reliable transportation to and from work

• SPI assumes all employees can work a 6 A.M.-4 P.M, a typical 40 work week

• SPI requires that employees work overtime as required to meet project deadlines Compensation and Benefits
