Shuttle Operations Manager


Spirit Of The Position:

The Shuttle Operations Manageroversees the operations of their shuttle location(s), under the direction of the director of transportation operations to ensure consistent delivery of best-in-class Shuttle Operations. Further, this manager will support the programs and initiatives originating from transportation services to support individual needs of their shuttle team in step with our devotion to promoting an employee-focused, servant leadership culture at LAZ.


Principal Job Duties:


  • Lead, direct, and develop team of shuttle drivers for [location name.]
  • Create opportunities for high-performing staff including drivers, dispatchers, supervisors, and other managers.
  • Manage, plan, schedule, train, and direct the activities of on-site Shuttle Operations.
  • Comprehend and comply with collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
  • Payroll processing; ensuring sign off on hours in timely manner; collaborate with the local payroll department to ensure pay data is completed properly; work with human resources manager to ensure proper wage and hour compliance.
  • Organize and narrate shuttle operation management skills for assistant managers, supervisors and dispatcher.
  • Responsible for developing client relationships and business retention.
  • Understand, implement, and deliver all requirements that are outlined within the contractual agreement between LAZ and our client.
  • Ensuring that increased revenue, managed expenses, and customer satisfaction is maximized by maintaining the highest level of service thresholds and initiatives that are aligned with the expectations of our client.
  • Responsible for financial management of assigned shuttle location ensuring adherence to budget and revenue enhancements.
  • Daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial and operational reports as required, as well as passenger count logs.
  • Implementation and completion of other projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise from assigned shuttle location(s).
  • Manage claims arising from accident/incidents at the location and coordinate with assigned safety manager to properly mitigate future events.
  • Additional related duties as assigned.

  • Resolves customer service issues or questions as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Effectively work in a team environment.
  • Prepare and submit accident / incident reports in a timely manner.
  • Use two-way radio to interact with operators and supervisors in the away from the office.
  • Report accidents, problems, and other required shuttle information (both mechanical and cosmetic) to management in a timely manner.


Requirements:

  • Must have valid commercial license class A, B or C and have at least 2 years of licensed driving experience, with passenger endorsement
  • Must have an unexpired medical certificate
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to meet the following mvr guidelines.
    • No active dui/dwi violations.
    • No active reckless driving violations (within last 3 years);
    • No active leaving the scene, vehicular homicide/assault violations (within last 3 years)
    • One or fewer moving violations and or/accidents (within 1 year)
    • Maintain a professional appearance (no body piercings or visible tattoos on forearms or legs)
    • Reliable transportation to and from work


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.


Experience:

  • 3+ years supervising fixed route passenger transportation.
  • 2+ years managing compliance of dot standards.
  • 1+ years in management role.
  • Experience working with financial statement/accounting, P&L reports and budgeting.
  • Routine and preventative maintenance of vehicles operating passenger transportation.
  • Must have dispatch and scheduling experience.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics is preferred.
  • Previous experience with GPS and risk mitigating camera systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.

Travel:

  • If assigned to multiple locations, this manager must be willing to travel within assigned region, as necessary.

  • Obtain, analyze, and communicate critical federal, state, and local transportation and environmental regulations for use by management in related departments/regions and partner with the National Safety Manager and HR to modify and/or develop policies, procedures and training programs where necessary.
  • Partner with Operations and HR to ensure all Shuttle Drivers comply with DOT and FMCSA (National, State and Local) regulations (Driver Qualification files, Hours of Service, MVR, etc.) as well as all vehicles have appropriate daily, monthly and annual documentation (repair and maintenance logs, inspections, etc.).
  • Track and monitor vehicle inventory, license/permitting and insurance information, communicating updates, as necessary.
  • Serve as the point of contact to and monitoring compliance of the DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
  • Report and maintain various Company DOT and FMCA compliance filings, including the MCS-150 Biennial report and Unified Carrier Registration.
  • Support to electric fleet program activities.
  • Documents LAZ vehicle DOT compliance maintenance procedures and information for transportation fleet audits.
  • Supports and maintains DOT, FTA, and FMCSA (National, State and Local) fleet compliance data (vehicles have appropriate daily, monthly and annual documentation (repair and maintenance logs, inspections, etc.).
  • Monitor 3rd party registration activities and review invoices.
  • Provide support for new Shuttle Operations, registration with state and local agencies and obtaining local operating authority, identifying trends and maintenance training gaps, as needed.
  • Support and maintain various Company DOT and FMCSA compliance filings, including the MCS-150 Biennial report and Unified Carrier Registration.
  • Monitor and track all fleet technology programs and requests.
  • Provide documentation as needed for accident and incident investigations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
