What you'll do
The CTC Driver provides regular, safe transportation for CTC and other Bassett Healthcare patients who do not have other transportation options available. Operates the CTC Van in a customer friendly, professional manner according to customer service training, adheres to transportation schedules to meet scheduled
appointment times.
- Arrives as scheduled for van service
- Performs regular vehicle safety inspections according to hospital vehicle use policy and reports deficiencies to the Manager for resolution
- Reports 100% all traffic citations received and motor vehicle collisions involving a hospital vehicle to his or her immediate supervisor, before the end of their work shift, using required hospital reports and forms based on the Hospital Vehicle Use Policy.
- Operates the van safely, within DMV traffic and safety laws and regulations, with no more than one violation or accident in any calendar year as reviewed annually by Manager.
- Assure vehicle inspection, registration, insurance, and licenses are kept up to date and current at all times.
- Cleans the vehicle inside and outside at least once per week, more often if the vehicle becomes dirty between cleaning dates.
- Assures routine service, maintenance, cleaning, and fueling of hospital vehicle is maintained.
- Communication/Coordination
- Contacts, informs, directs and coordinates new patient transportation with internal and external customers.
- Contacts new patients, who require transportation, to obtain directions to their homes, set up pickup and drop off times to meet scheduled appointment times within 24 hours of notification of transportation need.
- Contacts internal and external sources to communicate and resolve van-scheduling problems, modify appointment times, or arrange for other transportation within 1 hour of knowledge of such problems.
- Provides assistance and/or wheelchairs for patients who request or require help at the time of the request.
- Coordinates appointment changes with internal and external sources when transportation services exceed availability of van or when conflicts in scheduling arise.
- Provides back up transportation shuttle services to employees and door greeter services to patients and visitors when schedules allow or are required. Provides back-up services to Security department when needed for unusual circumstances or emergency code situations.
- Recordkeeping
Provides monthly, YTD, and annual reports to CTC and Support Services Management on the number of patients transported, miles traveled, fuel used, and vehicle maintenance costs - Maintain daily records of the number of patients transported, records will include the names of patients transported, pickup times, appointment times and location of appointment, return trip information (pickup time, drop-off time), number of patient visits, distance traveled, and residence location, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs.
- Can work flexible hours and willingness to work long hours and drive in winter conditions.
- Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed
What we need from you
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred
Experience:
- Minimum one year commercial driving experience, required
Licensure/Certifications:
- NYS Driver's License, required
- First Aid/CPR training certification, preferred

Pay Range
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.
Pay Range Minimum:
USD $16.65/Hr.
Pay Range Maximum:
USD $24.97/Hr.
