Shuttle Driver

Fallingwater, a property entrusted to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and designated as a National Historic Landmark and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is seeking a seasonal, part-time Shuttle Driver for the Visitor Services department. This function of this position is to transport visitors by shuttle to and from the House, and to assist with onboarding and exiting the shuttle. Additional responsibilities include transporting and delivery of daily mail, supplies, and materials. This will also include managing the umbrella inventory around the property and assisting with Pavilion cleanliness. This position will report directly to the Director of Visitor Services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Transports visitors from Pavilion to House and back. Assists visitors in and out of Shuttle.

· Assists visitors with special needs as directed by Visitor Services Representative at Information Desk.

· Picks up mail at each department mid-morning and mid-afternoon, deliver it the department requested.

· Transports supplies between facilities, such as Café, Gift Shop, Special Events, etc.

· Transports umbrellas to and from the Visitor Center, House, and Theatre as needed.

· Keeps inside and outside of shuttle neat and clean. Wipes down seats, sweeps floor, and cleans lights and windshields daily. A thorough washing of the inside/outside shuttles/vehicles is required weekly.

· Completes morning check list prior to starting the day and provides report to the manager.

· Adheres to speed limits, remains alert and follows safe driving practices at all times.

· Avoids drinking or eating on the shuttle while visitors present and also in peripheral view of the visitors, keeps both hands available for operating at all times including when vehicle is in motion.

· Trains other Visitor Services Representatives to operate all shuttle vehicles, which include the golf carts and van.

· Supports the Conservancy’s cost containment and fundraising efforts and needs, as applicable.

· Assists in other areas of the Visitor Services Departments.

· Transports items to Barn in the van as needed.

· Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Valid PA Driver’s License required. Safe driving record.

· Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to interact and project a positive and friendly image to visitors.

· Ability to work collaboratively with other departments.

· Ability to work weekends and holidays and flexibility with schedule and hours is required.

· To be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Location: The position is based at Fallingwater in Mill Run, PA.

Position Duration: This is a part-time, seasonal position.

Starting Rate: $16.01-$17.84 an hour
