Job Description

General Purpose of Job:  

The IT Trainer I works in a fast-paced, innovative IT and Healthcare Analytics environment implementing, optimizing and supporting technology training to improve business and patient care outcomes. Teaches and supports caregivers as they navigate, document, and perform other duties related to hardware or software systems. Related activities include preparation of teaching materials, training room set-up/maintenance, proficiency assessment, administrative and operational organization and support related to training and communication with other stakeholders.

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis.  Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader.  Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position. 

• Teach designated content to caregivers both in person and remotely; may include teaching during evening and weekend hours
• Proctor assessments and keeping records of course attendance and exam results
• Map learners to the appropriate training and document it in the ticket/request, notify hiring managers, and register learners in the learning management system (LMS)
• Training and lesson plan development
• Learn content and acquire/maintain credentials in all content areas and cross-train as assigned. 
• Prepare for classes and teach content
• Complete administrative tasks quickly and efficiently
• Communicate effectively with IDM/Access team, leaders and other stakeholders.
• Close tickets from classes
• Create Tips & Tricks and Quick Start Guides according to workflows
• Respond to Helpdesk tickets/how-tos
• Provide elbow support during go-lives
• Proactively maintains application knowledge after credentialing
• Test training environment
• Creates and maintains quality brand associated with the training team and IT department
• Lead small projects
• Takes initiative/leads for resolution when problems are identified
• Develops great customer relationships and rapport
• Assists teammates where possible/needed/asked
• Creates/participates in positive and inclusive work environment
• Demonstrates flexibility and customer service focus when scheduling course times.
• Participates in periodic on-call rotation and go-live/variable evening hours for project and downtime related work

Job Requirements General Requirements N/A Work Experience See Education Education Bachelor's Degree; OR Associate's Degree with minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience Bachelor's Degree in Education, teaching certificate or corporate training experience. - preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills Desire for meaningful work and real responsibility Demonstrable and strong problem-solving skills Creative and critical thinking skills Strong written and verbal communications skills Strong interpersonal skills Professionalism Collaborative and ambitious Service and process improvement mindset with an interest in building relationships with customers Meet Epic Credentialed Trainer requirements within three months of hire; this includes attending credential trainer education, application specific education, proficiency testing/assessment including presentations Various office software applications, including MS Project, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint Knowledge of Best Customer Service practices and the measurement (metrics) of those practices Must complete and receive a satisfactory score on analytic skills assessment Project management skills - preferred
